The Manchester United’s top goal-scorer from the last campaign – Zlatan Ibrahimovic can be fit within a couple of months. The 35-year-old forward suffered from a bad knee injury in April and it looked like he won’t be ready to return on the pitch until 2018. That’s why Manchester United didn’t extend his contract and released the former Swedish international forward on 1st July.
According to “The Sun”, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s recovery goes better than the expectations and he will surely be fit again in October. The Swedish forward is one of Jose Mourinho’s favourite players and it won’t be a surprise if the Portuguese manager decides to offer Zlatan a contract, in case the player is fit within a couple of months.
The 35-year-old player managed to score 28 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions for The Red Devils last campaign and even though he received that injury, he remained the top scorer of the team for the season. I think he deserves to play at least one more season for Manchester United.
There are lots of offers for the goal-scoring machine. There are rumours, which link him with other clubs from The Premier League, clubs from the MLS and, of course, teams from China. Surely, if Ibra gets well soon, Manchester United will offer him a short-term contract until the end of the 2017/18 season.
However, it will be much more difficult for the Swedish player to find a place in the starting XI, as the club has already signed the Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku. On the other hand, Mourinho can only be happy if he has a player like Ibrahimovic again in his squad.
At both ends, only the time will show if the Swedish forward will return to Manchester United, or he is going to try his luck in other country. The only trophy Ibrahimovic still hasn’t won is The Champions League. So, his priority will may be at least one more participation in the most prestigious European club competition.
